Day Zero

Day zero was full of aimless walks
over the irritatingly plain landscape.
Hot sand underfoot,
light penetrating intensely under the eyelids
and constant dry mouth are the elements,
to which we have already got used to.

The sandy landscape was endless,
heading towards the former ocean.
But what’s left,
it’s just a quiet expectation
for the dry out of the last drop of water
closed in fauna and flora, and a spectacle,
in which everything will be engulfed in flames.
There is nothing in it that we could not expect.
